Peer Review Process

Publication decisions

Jurnal Rekayasa is a peer-reviewed journal. Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Rekayasa will be peer reviewed by two referees/reviewers. The mechanism is blind. The final decision is made by the editorial board based on the review results. The editor of the Jurnal Rekayasa is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The plagiarism screening of the manuscripts is done by application Turnitin. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

Promptness

Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Policy in screening of plagiarism

Plagiarism is strictly prohibited in Jurnal Rekayasa. Plagiarism screening in this journal is completed through Turnitin and Google search. The Journal team will judge any case of plagiarism. If plagiarism is detected before the article is published, we will alert the author(s), asking them to either rewrite the text or quote the exact text and cite the original source.

Galley proof will be scanned for detecting the plagiarism level. The tolerance for the plagiarism level for each article is < 20%. We use Plagiarism Detector Program subscribed by the Jurnal Rekayasa, Faculty of Civil Engineering and planning, Bung Hatta University.

If plagiarism is detected after publication, the Journal team will conduct an investigation on its own merits. If plagiarism is found, the journal editorial office will contact the authors. Depending on the extent of the plagiarism, the paper may also be formally retracted.
